Disclaimer:
All of the sources below are well outside of the mainstream. Many, but not all, are labeled with all the words our modern society currently uses to beat down dissident thought: hateful, racist, sexist, Islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, conspiratorial, anti-intellectual, etc. If those labels deter you, then you should not even bother with the list. But, in the words of Thomas Jefferson, "There is not a truth existing which I fear or would wish unknown to the whole world." If that sounds good to you, read on.
Introduction:
This is just a sampling of the news and political opinion sources I follow regularly. I try to take opinions from all walks of life and from all backgrounds and ideologies. However, the list below will skew more ideologically to the "Right" (with a few exceptions). I think this is the case because mainstream understanding is so thoroughly biased towards Leftism that even the most extreme Left-wing blogs don't sound very different from what you hear on CNN or MSNBC. These Leftist ideas may begin at the top, but they are so pervasive in our culture -- movies, music, TV, and even the way we speak to each other -- that most people don't even notice their influence. Well, I notice. Many others notice, too and that's why 94% of Americans distrust the media. As for me, I'm most interested in dissident, alternative thought. I would like these weird, screwball ideas to come from all sources but the fact is, the only interesting discussions these days are happening on the Right. The Left is so full of young, naive, and self-assured lemmings who are sitting in their own echo chambers that it's hardly worth my effort to follow them. True, I still make the effort and occasionally come across great pieces (usually at the mild outlets like Vox, The Atlantic, and NPR), but not frequently enough to include such sources in the lists below. You'll get all you need of Leftist ideas just by scrolling Facebook or living your everyday life.
Good luck, happy learning, and above all, be careful. The truth sometimes doesn't sit very well.

(British-born and naturalized American citizen; host of "Radio Derb," perhaps the most well-prepared, carefully-thought, and unique political podcast out there; a must-listen every week)
Janet Bloomfield
(aka "JudgyBitch"; mostly focuses on culture, feminism, and masculinity; not the most polished writer, but very insightful)
Paul Joseph Watson:
(associated with InfoWars which has a terrible reputation in the mainstream; PJW mostly opines on politics and news that isn't covered well by most of the media)

Me:
(you'll get a sampling of what i'm most interested in just from these sources; warning: not as well-maintained as everything else on this list)
Sample videos and articles discussing currently topical subjects that the media does report
No One is Going to Hillary Rallies (this video has just a few examples of something I've been seeing on Twitter, YouTube, and alternative media sites for months)
The Color of Crime (report on racial aspects of crime; uses only government statistics)
Trump reading a poem (True, the video is sensational and manipulative but it sure gets the blood pumping)
