So Trump "violated the Constitution" by suspending visas for 90 days. But 57% of Americans agree with him. So does that mean democracy sucks? That a pure democracy tramples the rights of minorities?
OK, I'll grant you that. For the moment...
Then why all the bullshit about the popular vote and Trump being illegitimate? Why the obsession with getting as many people as possible out to the pools? Why the opposition to any legislation (e.g., voter ID laws) which might in any way restrict the total number of people who cast a vote?
Seems like our devotion to the Cult of Democracy is alive and pathetic as ever. Of course, it extends from the Myth of Egalitariansim -- that everyone is equal, that everyone is the same, that everyone's voice is just as important as everyone else's.
Ha. Tell that to your government who have been ignoring what the majority of people think for the past century.
Of course, let's call this what it is: anger from not getting a result you like. You claim to love democracy but when the will of the people comes out for something you happen not to like (e.g., stopping illegal immigration) it's "Populist! Wicked! He's the next Adolf Hitler or Che Guevara!"
What a boring game.
